Continuing from where we ended, another means through which individuals can use to recognise the resources available to them is:
Research and Information Gathering

This may sound complex but it’s simple. Information exists almost everywhere but knowing the type of information you seek and the right sources to obtain it is important. Research involves asking questions and seeking answers to uncover new insights. This process helps you discover facts that align with your interests and goals.
To recognise resources related to the path you want to take, explore websites, forums, and social media platforms relevant to your field of interest. This is one of the greatest advantages we have in our modern technological world. Treasures are often hidden in unexpected places, and if you’re not curious, you may miss valuable insights.
Participating in educational events, such as workshops, seminars, or webinars, can open doors to resources that can significantly aid any area of life you seek improvement or advancement.
Such events not only provide knowledge but also offer networking opportunities where you can connect with others who share your interests and ambitions.
Bear in mind that the journey of discovery is as important as the destination. If you’re in a hurry to get to where you want, without gathering more, knowing more, or having less preparation, you may not last long at that destination, or you may end up being ineffective.
Take time to gather most of the relevant information you’d need and then take off!
Networking

Remember the time you once had a job through a friend or colleague, or maybe that moment you got saved from making a wrong investment. Yeah, that’s what networking can do!
Friends, colleagues, and mentors also appear as resources. Connecting with them can reveal opportunities and support that we might not have recognised before. Such people share other valuable resources or advice based on their own experiences. Often, engaging in conversations with them can uncover useful information about specific skills, tools and strategies that align with your aspirations.
Experienced mentors can also help you navigate challenges and identify resources needed for your growth. All you have to do is stay in touch.
Truth: Networking is not just about making connections or meeting people; it’s about knowing how to use the help and resources they offer.
Barriers to Recognition

Sometimes, it may be easy to recognise the resources available to us but certain factors may stand as hindrances to reaching out to these resources.
Our mindset, capable of conceiving limiting beliefs, can prevent us from seeing available resources. Our perceptions about certain things, people, careers, or opportunities may not be as we thought. We may judge wrongly, and as a result, we may never benefit from those things.
Additionally, distractions and the fear of vulnerability may cause us to be reluctant to seek or admit that we need help. Believing that you are incapable or deserving of success can prevent you from seeking out and utilising available resources. This may sound awkward, but individuals with low self-esteem often conceive such a mindset.
Holding the belief that everything must be perfect can cause paralysis, making you overlook resources that are imperfect but valuable. Great things always take time!
Finally, comparing yourself to others can bring feelings of inadequacy, making it difficult to see the resources that are within your reach. Always look out for what you can do not what others can do! Everyone’s destiny is different; as a result, we’re all trekking on different paths.
Shifting Perspectives

Let’s shift the poor perspective of ‘I don’t know how to get there’, ‘ I don’t know how to do this’, ‘I don’t have what it takes’. You may be right, but don’t justify yourself all the time. Look within and around you. You have it all!
Some people are already on a successful path, strictly putting in the effort to sustain their achievements. If you’re on such path, I’ll urge you to continue. And to anyone who’s starting or still gathering, you don’t have to feel bad, you will soon get to your destination. Just keep your progress at a good pace.
Regardless of your circumstances, always have the mindset of abundance rather than scarcity. Everything we need is already within and around us. Be vigilant and diligent enough in identifying the resources available to you.
Strive to use them the right way, knowing that every journey or destination you desire in life is attainable!
I hope this piece has been a blessing!
